New viaduct at London Bridge – Part III

Posted in England, London by folkestonejack on May 2, 2011

A quick stop off at London Bridge on the third day of the bridge installation at Borough High Street revealed that the new bridge had been jacked down to get it onto the waiting concrete supports. I wasn’t sure whether the process was complete but it was clearly nearly there. The view for anyone walking along Borough High Street won’t be much different to the one I saw in front of me this morning… although hopefully without the roadblock!

There is now an impressive time lapse video of this from Network Rail at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xk2g8RIBr1U showing the bridge installation from start to finish.
