Eclectic sights

Posted in England, London by folkestonejack on March 31, 2012

A rather eclectic tour around London today gave us a chance to see a giant aeolian harp, an outdoor exhibition of Anthony Caro sculptures at Canary Wharf, the Christina O super yacht at South Quay, the incredible new departures hall at Kings Cross station, a slice of Einstein’s brain, a field of ceramic flowers and the latest sculpture to grace the fourth plinth! If nothing else, it was a good reminder of the ever changing variety of things going on in London…

Midway through our expedition we sought refreshment in the terrific new pub ‘The Parcel Yard’ which has been converted from the former parcel office at King’s Cross. It is now the largest station pub in the country but somehow still manages to feel intimate and delight with small details (such as a parcel trolley and old railway signage).
