Ships and boats
I have long been interested in ships of all kinds. I can’t really give you a satisfactory explanation why, except to say that our childhood holidays usually began with the excitement of a ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Jersey and we absolutely loved the Navy days we were taken to in Portsmouth in the early 1980s. Our interest was stoked by a regular supply of Navy news from Ted, a near-neighbour at our local allotments, whose son was serving on HMS Glasgow during the Falklands War.
